  • You can look at the Darwin source code to learn how Mac OS works.
  • You can read your email on a Macintosh.
  • Safely and securely.
  • You don't need a virus checker under Mac OS X.
  • File formats are not proprietary lock-ins
  • Mac OS X is very, very, very stable.
  • The Macintosh community has not broken any monopoly laws.
  • The Macintosh community has not played dirty tricks on competitors.
  • Mac Os X runs well on older Macs.
  • In 2006 Mac OS X runs on Intel and PPC chips.
  • Remote terminal software (VNC) is available for free.
  • A very rich variety of software is available for Macintosh.
  • You can write your own programs using free developer tools.
  • For math students you have the most excellent Grapher.
